What Is a Task Scam?
A task scam is a fake online job where someone is told they can earn money by completing simple tasks, missions, ratings, app optimization, product reviews, likes, or platform actions. The scam often shows fake earnings and then asks the person to deposit, recharge, top up, or pay before withdrawing money.
How task scams usually work
- The job starts with easy tasks and fake earnings.
- The platform shows a balance or commission.
- The user is told to pay to unlock tasks, upgrade VIP level, or withdraw earnings.
- The account may be frozen until another payment is made.
What to avoid
Do not send crypto, USDT, Zelle, Cash App, gift cards, or wire transfers to unlock job earnings. Real jobs pay workers; workers should not have to pay to get paid.
